From the field notes of Madame Nocturna

My darling survivors, though I use that term loosely, welcome to Survival Instinct: Journal One, a most elegant autopsy of humanity’s dance with extinction. These chronicles are not about endurance, no… they are about transformation. About the exquisite ways we are unmade, reassembled, and claimed by the very world we sought to tame.

Within these pages lie accounts of nature’s quiet revenge: forests that cultivate their own lumberjacks, cities that gestate new mothers from rebar and bone, oceans that swallow voices only to return them as choirs of the drowned. You will find tales of hunger and metamorphosis, of soil that dreams and skin that remembers, of civilization’s tender organs feeding the patient, blooming earth.

How gloriously naïve we are, believing ourselves architects of the future, when all along we’ve been sculptures in nature’s private gallery, living art in her grand experiment of reclamation. Every bridge, every cut, every monument is merely a seed in her great undoing.

So come closer, little wanderers. Press your ear to the ground and listen. The pulse you hear beneath the soil is not your heartbeat, it’s hers. And she has already begun to write your name.
