Under A Blanket of Skies
Space. Sky. Stars. Imagine yourself laying on a mosquito free blanket in the middle of nowhere, and seeing a sky so clear without the congestion of city lights that you could see the Milky Way. In life, we have rare instances where we might feel the contentment and awe that is in that moment, under the stars. But it happens. My work is my autobiography. It's been my tag line for 15 years. Written at 3 am, in a tiny room where I was sleeping on a twin mattress and recording on my lap. I was in the middle of a mental health crisis, and candidly, the medication I had been on for it was making me not want to be around anymore. My creativity, creating art and composing, was something that my intuitive abilities gave me when I sat down, always. What they gave me took that away. So that night I did what I desperately needed to do... I sat in the dark and I let God/Spirit/Whatever you want to call it, work through my fingers. It was a dance of sacred prayer. I remembered. The next day, I called my shrink and we changed the med.
