Why do we need to level up on LinkedIn?
Facebook is fabulous, for connecting and community. But when it comes to finding work and professional recognition, as a freelancer or employee, you need to be on LinkedIn. It’s as simple as that.
They are not alternative networks to choose between, they're completely different, and you use them in different ways. You can't simply transfer over what works from one to the other - but you CAN learn to use LinkedIn to maximise your success in the remote work world in particular. Because remote means online, and it means competing effectively on the world's online business network.
LinkedIn is a non-negotiable part of your remote work success strategy because:
- 📈 it’s the social network for business
- 😎 there are more than 900 million people there - including your customers, and people they know
- 💸 you can achieve BIG results with zero advertising and promotion budget (unlike any other social network!)
- 🔍 Google now indexes LinkedIn post content, which boosts your search discoverability, your personal brand, and your professional reputation
LinkedIn is a powerful combination....
It's your online "shop window"
Your profile is your online resume/CV, a place to showcase your work history, your portfolio, your testimonials, and more - and share it all with the world.
It's your network of connections
In business, it's all about 'who you know' - and on LinkedIn you can build that network tactically and intentionally, to ensure success with your remote work goals.
It's a powerful job search engine
From the smallest startups to the biggest brands, LinkedIn Jobs is massive. BUT, recruiters and hirers are also LinkedIn users with personal networks to engage with as well.
So, let's do this together:
Within a private community, we will spend 4 weeks together, growing and developing our LinkedIn presences.
We will commit to posting every (week) day, to the best of our ability, and to commenting and engaging on each other's posts during the 'golden hour' of posting every day.
This will signal to LinkedIn's algorithms that our posts are 🔥 🔥 🔥

And what else?
Remote Work Europe will give each participant:
A personal review of your LinkedIn profile and postings (you choose when, over the 4 weeks, this would best help you)
Support to figure out your personal goal and game-plan on LinkedIn, for the 4-week boost and beyond
Daily inspiration for posts which help feed the LinkedIn algorithm
Space to link to your posts in our community, for everyone else in the group to go and engage with - because getting comments and reactions in the first hour, gives your posts rocket fuel 🚀 🚀 🚀
Daily questions answered, latest learning, and mutual support to all group members
A bonus copy of our premium LinkedIn Guide to keep 📘
What do I need to invest?

"The Level up Your LinkedIn Challenge was a great, insightful experience. After a couple of days I was able to get a clear picture of how well my messages were performing, and it gave me a chance to experiment with different formats. The daily encouragement and interaction with my cohort and Maya's expert guidance really helped drive me to be clear and consistent. This challenge is a must for anyone who thinks they can't cut through the social network noise - you absolutely can."

You will find the free Guidebook, available in the members area as soon as you enrol, very valuable for getting started, and if you really are starting from zero then you'll have more work to do in the early days, setting up your profile etc.
BUT if you're prepared to make the most of it, you'll do this phase with peer support and guidance, AND get your network off to a flying start!

No, you don’t have to get on it every day, we’re all busy and it’s fine to catch up with other people’s posts in a batch if you have to. But you will get the most benefit from regular posting and reacting, and we will be doing this in the same hour each day (posts you can schedule, but comments need to be live reactions.)

Yes if you want. However, if you are okay with having your review and feedback posted in the group, that will help everyone learn from it as well, in a small closed community - so it’s up to you. Last time we all learned a lot about each other and it was a really encouraging and positive community we developed.

This will be an intentionally small and manageable cohort, because we need to do each other justice in reading and commenting on each other's work.
If we get too many people signing up we may need to split the cohorts, or defer late applicants to a New Year challenge... So, secure your slot early, so you get to start 2024 *already* ahead of the LinkedIn game.

No, not necessarily - LinkedIn in a global platform!
However, we will suggest that we all do our daily posting and commenting within a middle-of-day window CET, to maximise the impact. The algorithms definitely love a burst of interaction when a post goes live 🔥

100%, yes! LinkedIn is the ultimate freelance and solopreneur marketplace, and the perfect environment to build your personal brand and content platform, to engage with potential clients.

You may well have neglected your LinkedIn presence if you feel secure in long-term employment, but if the last 18 months has taught us anything, it's that things can change fast. It is never a bad move to enhance your visibility, authority, and expertise on LinkedIn - whether it's to raise your profile with headhunters, or to make a great impression at your next performance review.

I have had my LinkedIn profile since 2007, and nothing I am going to teach or suggest in this challenge will put your account at risk. The platform WANTS you to use it more and use it better, so all the tactics we’ll use are compliant and safe and playing by its own rules.
