Neytiri Shawl Knitting Pattern PDF - Avatar

A crescent shawl inspired by Neytiri from Avatar.

Neytiri is deeply connected to the nature and essence of Pandora and I wanted to use some bright pops of colour among the stockinette background to show the neon flowers that grow over the planet.  A striped brioche section shows the relationship between Neytiri and Jake and how it evolves. She doesn’t back down – she instead shows Jake her world and how proud she is of Pandora and how important it is to fight for it. Yes, she’s fierce and courageous but Jake brings out her softer side, just like how brioche is created. It may seem hard at first, but with patience and time, you’ll fall in love with it. We continue to knit a lace border full of arrowheads to show Neytiri’s preferred weapon, which she expertly uses to protect those she loves.

1x 400yds fingering weight yarn
5x 80yds fingering weight yarn in contrasting colours
4mm needles
stitch markers
