LOVED this story

Extra spicy, taboo, immoral, mildly illegal, most important is that it's fiction. There's a reason its banned on Amazon but Nyla K is such a solid writer and good at developing complex characters and their relationships. There was reasoning behind the way their relationship worked and I feel like it was conveyed as best as it really could be for such taboo subject matter.

I'm not sure I have quite the right words to express what this book is. "Absolutely magnificent" comes to mind first, but "absolutely taboo" follows soon after.

And I don't mean taboo in the normal sense of the word where it is used for books that really doesn't come close to living up to that name. No, Double-Edged defines taboo and while I loved this book so much and couldn't put it down, I can also admit that most people will not like it. Read the damn trigger warnings before you read it.

But if you can enter this book with an open mind you will be subjected to gorgeous writing that will pull you in and make you feel what the characters feel. Your heart WILL be broken, but it will also be put back together.

There is so much development going on in these characters. Each of them came from a place of far greater brokenness than you can imagine, but when you reach the end you will be amazed by how the events in the book transformed them. While I've seen many reviews criticising the fact that the boys are 17 when they enter a relationship with an adult, I actually think it contributes to the character development. You can really see how the boys move from broken teenagers to adults who are comfortable with who they are and the decisions they have made.

In this book there is beauty in the taboo, but you have to open your mind and look past your prejudices to see it.
