This is a free cross stitch pattern, originally created to commemorate what would have been my grandmother's 100th birthday on 19th April, 2016. Primrose Day was first observed on 19th April 1881 to commemorate the death of Benjamin Disraeli and it became a tradition to lay a wreath of primroses at the base of his statue in London as they were said to be his favourite flower. This day hasn't been formally observed for decades but for me it's a day when I remember my Grandma and her mother, who was born on 19th April 1893.
