Priceless: The Soul’s Value in Time and Eternity
There are countless books on success, money, relationships, leadership, and even happiness—but very few on the one thing Jesus placed above all of these: the soul. In His own words, “What shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36). That piercing question lies at the heart of this book.
Why write this book?
I have written Priceless: The Soul’s Value in Time and Eternity to draw our attention back to what truly matters. In every generation, humanity wrestles with misplaced priorities—chasing what glitters, while neglecting what is eternal. Jesus, however, never lost sight of the immeasurable worth of a single soul. His parables, His miracles, His cross, and His resurrection all proclaim one timeless truth: a soul is worth more than all the treasures of this world combined.
This book is my humble attempt to trace that emphasis throughout the life and teachings of Jesus. Each chapter invites you to see the soul through His eyes—whether in the lost sheep, the prodigal son, the Good Samaritan, or the woman at the well. Alongside Scripture, I have woven in modern stories and real-life testimonies that prove the truth of Christ’s words in our day.
The forgotten emphasis on the soul
We live in an age obsessed with wealth, fame, and power. Success is often measured in material gain, influence, and applause. Even within the church, it is tempting to focus more on platforms than people, on numbers than nurture, on outward growth than inward transformation. Yet, in all of history, there has never been a bank account, an empire, or a crown that outlasted the value of one soul.
The soul is eternal. The soul is God’s breath in man. The soul is the very reason Jesus stepped out of heaven, bore the cross, and conquered the grave. To forget the soul is to forget the heartbeat of the Gospel.
