In one day, your family will:

• Cook a Kiwi recipe together, the kind our kids grew up on
• Hear the legend of Māui, who fished a whole island up out of the sea
• Make a traditional Kiwi craft
• Head outside for the games Kiwi kids actually play
• Fill in a My Country Report to keep, with the flag, the map, and their favorite new word

Most of it uses what you already have at home. It works for a four year old and a nine year old at the same time. The little one colors while the older one reads the legend aloud.

Open it the day beforehand, print a few pages, and you'll be ready to go. Do it in one go or spread it across the week. Either way, by the end your kids will feel like they have been to New Zealand. Even if you never leave the backyard.
