Unveiled Courage: Voices of the Unashamed

Domestic Violence affects 1 in 2 women daily. That's half of all the women you know. Unfortunately, when we think of domestic violence, we only think about the physical trauma, however, there is so much more to domestic violence that is unseen. The psychological, financial, and emotional trauma that is experienced in abusive relationships have far more lasting affects than the physical.

The women in this anthology share their stories of triumph and healing after domestic violence. In my chapter, "Missed Red Flags," I talk about the signs that are often missed or mistaken for love and affection. Speaking for myself, because of a lack of self-worth and confidence, I yearned for that attention, not realizing that they were missed red flags.

I hope is that you find your story in our stories and begin to heal, knowing that you are not just a survivor, but you are a thriver and your experiences have made you who you are today. Know that you are not alone and you can be encouraged to share your story to help someone else heal.
