The workshop focuses on:

• Muslim womens’ lifestyle and choices regarding TTC, pregnancy, birth, postpartum & motherhood. 

• Explores in-depth birth education and Islamic practices, developed with the insight of an active Muslim doula/Birthkeeper. 

• Focuses on Muslim womens’ and their families’ birth rights.

• Covers Homebirth, Freebirth and Hospital Birth prep top tips.

• How to navigate the UK Maternity (optional) Services with regards to choosing and/or declining care.

• Drawing light on evidence based research with regards to common health conditions/issues that may arise during pregnancy, birth and beyond.

• How to advocate for yourself during childbirth and have your birth partner(s) on board.

• How to prepare for subsequent births, avoid birth trauma and top tips on how to go about making a formal complaint via PALS.

• Delving into pregnancy, birth & motherhood from an Islamic perspective, adhering to the Quran and Sunnah. 

How the workshop will take place:

• The workshop will be run over two separate sessions over a 2 week consecutive span.

• The sessions will be held in the mornings

• There will be a maximum of 10 people per workshop (not including me)

• Each session will be 3 hours long with a 15-30 minute break.

On completing participation of the workshop, you will receive:

• a copy of the whiteboard notes from the sessions.

• a comprehensive list of useful links and resources (including those mentioned in the workshop)

• a certificate of participation.

• Free, unlimited access to join two closed, private Facebook Community Groups for Muslim women only. One of the groups runs specifically alongside the workshop.
