1. NAR-FUN-001 — Narrative Review Design, Research Questions and Scope
Description:
This Master Prompt would focus on establishing the conceptual and methodological foundation of a narrative review before literature synthesis begins. It would guide researchers in defining the research problem, identifying the knowledge gap, establishing the purpose of the review, formulating appropriate research questions, defining the subject and boundaries of the review, and explaining why a narrative approach is appropriate.
A major emphasis would be placed on distinguishing narrative review from systematic, scoping, rapid, and other evidence-synthesis approaches. Researchers would determine whether the intended review is primarily descriptive, interpretive, critical, conceptual, state-of-the-art, integrative, or another justified narrative form. The review design would be selected according to the research question rather than simply because narrative review permits methodological flexibility.
