SGP - Music in the Key of X (Album)

"Music in the Key of X" is an album by SGP (Sutherland Gomes Project), released on June 12, 2026. The album presents a collection of alternate versions of songs originally developed for Xianaria, offering insight into earlier arrangements and creative directions explored during the production process.

Many of these versions reflect initial concepts that were later refined after further development discussions between Tim Sutherland and Gabriela Gomes, which ultimately shaped the final versions featured on Xianaria. As a result, this album serves as a record of the project’s evolution, highlighting how compositions changed in structure, tone, and execution over time.

In addition to alternate versions, Music in the Key of X includes new material and previously unreleased outtakes from the Xianaria sessions. Notable tracks include “Into Your Hands,” “Lift Me to the Light,” “Into the Light,” “Rubicon,” and “Shadowlands,” expanding the scope of the original project with additional compositions.

The album functions both as a companion to Xianaria and as a standalone release, documenting the developmental stages of the SGP sound while introducing new work alongside reinterpretations of existing material.

SGP was formed in 2025 by Tim Sutherland and Gabriela Gomes. The concept behind "Xianaria" was created by the visionary Tim Sutherland, who is also the artist behind the album covers of both "Xianaria" and "Music in the Key of X" along with the SGP band logo. The album features songs written by Tim Sutherland, with certain tracks written by Gabriela Gomes.
