🌼 🦁🌿 LION’S ROOT™

Dandelion-Infused Traditional Herbal Salve

ANCIENT HERBAL WISDOM. TREASURED BOTANICALS. ROOTED IN CREATION.

For centuries, people turned to the plants growing in their fields, forests, gardens and mountains to care for their bodies.

Long before modern pharmacies, traditional herbalists carefully gathered flowers, leaves, roots and bark to prepare infused oils, poultices, ointments and salves.

Lion’s Root™ was inspired by that remarkable history.

At The Creator’s Remedy™, we believe the traditional knowledge surrounding these plants deserves to be remembered, respected and shared.

Our handcrafted Lion’s Root™ brings together a remarkable collection of botanicals with fascinating histories in traditional herbal care.

🌿 THE TREASURED HERBS BEHIND LION’S ROOT™

🌼 DANDELION (Taraxacum officinale) — The Humble Healer

Often dismissed as a common weed, dandelion has been treasured by generations of herbalists.

Traditionally, dandelion flowers were infused into oils and used in homemade salves and massage preparations for tired, aching muscles and joints.

Dandelion also contains naturally occurring polyphenols and other compounds studied for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity, primarily in laboratory research.

🌼 ARNICA (Arnica montana) — The Mountain Herb for Bruises and Sprains

Arnica has a particularly rich history in European herbal medicine.

For generations, arnica preparations have been applied externally for bruising, muscle soreness, sprains and discomfort following physical exertion.

Today, topical arnica continues to be studied for these traditional applications, although clinical findings are mixed.

🌿 COMFREY (Symphytum officinale) — The Legendary Knitbone

Few herbs have a traditional reputation quite like comfrey.

Historically called Knitbone, comfrey was used in poultices, compresses and ointments for sprains, bruises, sore joints and injured tissues.

Its traditional reputation is associated with its allantoin and other plant constituents. Certain specially manufactured, pyrrolizidine-alkaloid-controlled comfrey extracts have also been investigated clinically for musculoskeletal discomfort.

Comfrey requires particular safety precautions, however, because some of its naturally occurring alkaloids can be toxic.

🌿 WHITE WILLOW (Salix alba) — The Ancient Pain Herb

Willow bark has been used in traditional medicine for centuries, particularly for fever, headaches, aching joints and other painful conditions.

Its bark contains salicin, a compound historically important to the development of salicylate medicines.

Most research concerning willow and pain involves oral bark extracts, not infused topical oils. Nevertheless, its history remains an important part of herbal medicine.

🌼 CALENDULA (Calendula officinalis) — The Golden Flower of Skin Care

Calendula has long been treasured in European herbal traditions.

Its bright golden petals were infused into oils and incorporated into salves for irritated, dry or damaged skin.

Calendula has traditionally been used to comfort the skin and is valued today in botanical skincare for its skin-conditioning qualities.

🌼 CHAMOMILE (Matricaria chamomilla) — The Gentle Comforting Flower

Chamomile has been valued for generations in teas, compresses, baths and herbal ointments.

Traditional herbalists used chamomile preparations for skin irritation, minor inflammation and general physical comfort.

Its naturally occurring constituents, including apigenin and bisabolol-related compounds, have attracted scientific interest for their soothing and anti-inflammatory properties.

🌿 ST. JOHN’S WORT (Hypericum perforatum) — The Traditional Herbal Oil

St. John's Wort has a fascinating history that extends well beyond its modern association with mood.

Its flowering tops were traditionally infused into oils, often producing a distinctive reddish preparation.

Herbalists historically applied these oils in preparations for bruises, minor burns, muscle discomfort and nerve-related pain.

These uses are part of its traditional history and should not be confused with established clinical evidence for this finished salve.
