Recessa Shoulder Bag
The Recessa Shoulder Bag is designed for women with an eye for elegance and style.
The signature feature of the Recessa - the recessed base - is not only a design feature, but also allows the bag to stand firm wherever you set her down, maintaining her structured shape.
At the top is a recessed zipper closure to keep your belongings secure and out of sight. The bag has long, comfortable handles to carry the bag on the shoulder.

Recommended Fabrics
The exterior of the Recessa Shoulder Bag can be made from vinyl, cork or leather. For the lining you can choose Water Proof Canvas (WPC) or quilting cotton interfaced with woven interfacing. To give the bag the needed structure, all exterior pieces will be stabilized. Recommendations for stabilizer is given in the pattern.

Materials
Exterior (choose vinyl, corck or leather):
- Vinyl/cork: 24” x 48” (60 x 120 cm) for non directional material
- Leather 3 oz (1.2 mm)1 : 8 sq ft
Lining:
- Quilting cotton or other light weight fabric: 35 ½” x 55” (90 x 140 cm)
Interfacing lining (no need for WPC):
- Woven interfacing (Vilene G700 or SF101): 35 ½” x 55” (90 x 140 cm)
Stabilizer:
- Decovil light, LuxeFuse or leather stabilizer: 17” x 28” (43 x 72 cm)
- Decovil heavy or Salpa (1 mm thick) for base: 12” x 5” (30.5 x 12.5 cm)
- Nylon stabilizer tape of 3/8” (1 cm) wide: 71” (180 cm) long
- Nylon stabilizer tape of ¾” (2 cm) wide: 16” (41 cm) long
Hardware:
- Logo badge (optional): 1x
- Chicago screws OR decorative conchos with a post length of ¼” (6 mm). The post length will depend on your choice of materials: 4x
- Double cap rivets of 8x8 mm (size will depend on your choice of materials): 3x
Zippers:
- #5 Zipper tape: 1x 12” (30.5 cm) long, 1x 8” (20 cm) long
- #5 Zipper pull: 2x

Notions and Tools
- basic sewing tools and sewing machine
- teflon foot or walking foot, teflon (narrow) zipper foot if working with vinyl or leather
- universal needles or leather needles #16 or #18 (size 100 or 110) depending on your chosen materials

- silver pen, sharpie, erasable fabric pen and/or chalk to make marks (test on scrap pieces first)
