Tausug101 Alipbā'tā' and Sulat Sūg Cheat sheet Guide
The Bahasa Sūg alphabet is known as Alipba’ta’ or Alipbā’ for short. It is composed of 3 vowel sounds, 16 basic consonant sounds, and 15 borrowed consonants, with a total of 24 letters. It is based on Jawi and Arabic Scripts and was used from the late 12th century to the era of colonization in the late 1900s. Recording historical accounts, letters, poetries and stories were the primary use of Sulat Sug.
