Using the immersion method, this Charlotte Mason-inspired nature science study will provide you with a 24-page guide to the subject of birds and insects. It represents a complete, one-year science program for kids in K-3rd grade, and can be used with multiple ages together.

Living books, narration, nature walks, and hands-on projects bring the subject alive and provide a delightful learning experience.

What you get:

  • Nine distinct sections, each focused on a different aspect of the subject (each is designed to be completed in 4 weeks with a 9-month schooling schedule, or 5-6 weeks with a year-round schooling schedule)
  • Living books list for each section (many of these can be borrowed from the library, or accessed through inter-library loan)
  • Lists and links to free documentaries and educational videos
  • Suggested projects
  • A detailed sample schedule for every section
  • Instructions for how to implement the guide
  • Links to other resources
  • And more...

With some exceptions, the average lesson is designed to be completed in 15-20 minutes/day. Generally, minimal preparation is required, keeping things simple for you, the teacher. If the child is a strong reader, he may read the books independently. A younger child will need to be read to.

This is not AI-created or designed. I spent many hours combing through library book lists in search of well-written books. And I first "field-tested" it on my own 7-year-old, who absolutely loved the study, grew passionate about the subject, and can now tell you more about birds and insects than I can, lol.

This is one benefit of the immersion method: you have time to patiently explore a subject, which offers the opportunity to delight in and care about the topic.

So if you're prepared for your child to become fascinated with feathers, and nests, and eggs, and birds, and butterflies, and beetles--and so much more--grab the study guide now!
