Luca Rossi - Renegades After Dark AU

He has kept his promise for seventy-five years. He's starting to think he's kept it long enough.

Luca Rossi is the Detroit Renegades' #33, the charming left wing with the smile that sells jerseys. He is also Conte Luca Rossi, last count of an ancient vampire house out of Turin, and he has been twenty-eight for longer than Italy has been a country.

He loved one woman. He married her in 1953, watched her grow old while he stayed young. He has not loved anyone since.

Then Patricia Callahan assigns him to escort one of her Elysium Dreams Foundation's scholarship recipients at the annual gala. You.

You don't know what the gala really is. (spoiler it's not a gala) You don't know what the white rose pinned over your heart means. You don't know what Luca is. But for one second, across the room, he thinks you are her. You aren't. He knows that.

It doesn't help.
