The Amarena Bow is a festive accessory that can be styled in your hair or used to adorn your home.
To make the bow, a ribbon is first worked in the round using the magic loop technique with shaping created through increases and decreases at both ends. You can use any yarn weight and needle size to customize the width of the ribbon and achieve the bow style you prefer.
Finished Measurements
Instructions are provided for one size only. The finished width of the ribbon will depend on the yarn and needle size chosen. A guide is provided in the pattern to help you choose your needle size based on your yarn weight (from fingering-weight to bulky-weight) and your preferred ribbon width. The finished length of the ribbon is adjustable and can be customized to achieve your preferred bow size.
Gauge & Needles
Gauge is not important for this pattern. Choose any yarn you like and select an appropriate needle size (recommendations included in the pattern). Use circular needles of at least 80 cm / 32” to work the ribbon using the magic loop technique.
Yarn
To make the Amarena Bow, you will need up to 110 m / 120 yds of yarn. The exact yarn amount will vary depending on the yarn weight you choose and your desired ribbon length. Please refer to the meterage and yardage information for both samples below as a guide to how much yarn you will need.
