
Geoffrey Chaucer
In this special episode, we cover the fourteenth century poet, Geoffrey Chaucer, famed for his The Canterbury Tales and celebrated as the father of English literature. Chaucer is one of the most significant authors in the history of the English language, but he also lived a surprisingly interesting life that takes in the Black Death, the Hundred Years War, spying, the Peasants Revolt, Parliament and much more besides. We consider the life and times of Chaucer as well as how this may have influenced his poetry, and why he is so important as a writer.
