n8n Workflow Diff - see what actually changed between two workflow versions

Compare two exported n8n workflows and see what actually changed, without reading JSON by hand.

A client asks "what did you change since last week?" This prints the answer: nodes added or removed, parameters that changed, connections that moved, behaviour flags like retryOnFail that were switched, and workflow settings.

WHAT YOU GET

1. n8nwf_diff.py - readable diff, JSON output, and Markdown output for change notes.

2. A real example diff generated from two versions of the same workflow.

3. Exit code 1 when there are differences, so it also works as a CI check.

WHAT IT REPORTS

- Nodes added / removed

- Node parameters, including type changes and behaviour flags (retryOnFail, onError, disabled, maxTries)

- Connections added / removed / re-indexed

- Workflow settings

Node position, id and webhookId are ignored by default, because moving a box on the canvas is not a behaviour change. Use --include-positions if you want them.

USAGE
