The interview is over. Now what? This is the part where I see students lose ground most. They forget the thank you, miss the call, wait three weeks, and quietly give up. These 18 cards walk through everything after the handshake: writing down names, sending a thank you within a day, keeping the phone on, checking in politely, and handling the answer, whether it is yes, no, or "come back for round two."

I have coached a lot of students through disappointment. Hearing "no" calmly is a real skill, so it gets its own spot on the What If? page.

What's included:

• 18 sequence cards at Level A (picture + 1 to 3 words)

• 18 sequence cards at Level B (picture + short sentence + a "Stuck?" backup line)

• Thank you email and card templates

• When Do I Follow Up? timeline and check in email

• Level C independent checklist

• One page visual checklist

• What If? page (yes, no, second interview, missed call, unsure offer, no reply)

• First/Then board and check off strips

• Follow up tracker

• Student self check

• Teacher and parent page with a fading guide and an IEP goal idea

• Data sheet

How I use it:

After every mock interview, students send a real thank you to the staff member who interviewed them. Then that staff member calls them back so they can practice answering. It is a small thing, and it makes a big difference.

How this is different from my other interview products: Job Interview Practice | 36 Question Cards + Mock Interview Rubric | SPED includes a thank you note template. This set goes further with the timing, the phone and voicemail scripts, a tracker, and step cards for the whole waiting period.

Who it is for: high school special education, transition programs for ages 18 to 21, vocational and work based learning teams, and families. Grades 9 to 12 and adult transition.

What you download: one printable PDF, 18 pages, US Letter.
