Content Summary

I wrote the essay at the center of this resource guide in my 40s,

on the other side of a life sentence in prison, a father's betrayal, and my own long performance of a man that I never

wanted to be.

I wrote it because I needed to understand how men so full

of life-giving love—my father, myself, the men I grew up

with—could become agents of a system that demeans,

dominates, and kills.

I wrote it because rejection alone is a void. I wanted to

cultivate healing seeds on the other side.

This resource package is that cultivation.

The Facilitator's Guide is for leading a single, powerful

conversation. The Study Companion is for walking together

through four weeks of tending and practice. They are

designed to be used separately or in sequence, by one man

or by a hundred.

You do not need to be a therapist, a scholar, or a seasoned

facilitator to use these materials. You only need to identify as a man

who is ready to stop paying into the con and start living

the real thing.
