7. CRI-BIA-007 — Bias, Power, Positionality and Marginalized Perspectives
Description:
This Master Prompt would focus on critically examining how bias, disciplinary traditions, researcher positionality, institutional interests, funding structures, publication practices, sociopolitical assumptions, and unequal representation may influence knowledge production within a field. It would guide researchers in identifying whose perspectives dominate the literature, which populations and contexts receive attention, which assumptions are normalized, and which voices, explanations, outcomes, or forms of evidence remain underrepresented.
A major emphasis would be placed on examining not only bias within individual studies but bias within the accumulated knowledge structure itself. Researchers would consider publication bias, citation dominance, geographical concentration, disciplinary silos, funding influence, stakeholder representation, linguistic exclusion, and assumptions embedded in accepted research practices. Where relevant, the analysis would explicitly examine what has been normalized, privileged, marginalized, or silenced, reflecting an important critical orientation demonstrated in the uploaded literature.
