SDD Perfect Bike Feedbag Sewing Pattern

A simple, square construction feedbag that is great for bikes of all shapes and sizes. Perfect way to get into gear making with a functional and useful piece with a lot of room for customization! This pattern has no printed pieces, just measurements for each of the different squares and rectangles.

Recommended fabrics: 

Outer: Structured water-resistant or waterproof technical fabrics such as 200-300 denier nylon or polyester (210D nylon ripstop, HyperD 300). Heavier weight fabrics such as waxed cotton canvas can be used for a classic look. 

Gusset & Lining: Lightweight flexible technical fabrics such as PU coated ripstops, taslans, or silnylon/silpoly for a waterproof option.

Pockets: 4 oz pocketing or utility mesh. Lining or outer fabric can be substituted.

Stabilizer: 2mm EVA foam- with NO adhesive

Notions:

• 1”/2.5 cm Webbing (minimum 13”/33 cm)
• ¾”/1.9 cm Fold over elastic (minimum 10”/25 cm)
• ¼”/0.6 cm Elastic  (minimum 4”/10 cm)
• 1” Grosgrain ribbon (~2 yds/1.5 meters)
• 1-2mm Paracord (minimum 20”/50.8 cm)
• 2 Cord ends
• 1 Zipper pull (alternatively, add 4”/10 cm of your 1-2 mm paracord and an extra cord end) 
• 1”/2.5 cm Double-sided hook and loop tape (minimum 13”/33 cm. Extra length needed depending on side of handlebars and stem)
• 1 Cyberian cord lock (Size Large)- Cyberian cord locks are able to be operated one-handed while riding your bike! 
• 1 Barrel cord lock (~6mm opening to fit ⅛”/3mm cord)
• ⅛” Shock cord (minimum 10”/25 cm for most steel-framed bikes. Extra length needed depending on the size of your headset)
• Polyester thread- Tex 40 is recommended (such as Gutterman Mara 70) but All Purpose will work as well (Tex 30/Mara 100).
• Heat-erasable pen or tailor’s chalk
