The Mirror Orchard
The Mirror Orchard
In the forgotten mountain village of Larkvale, where snow falls even in summer and time rarely moves forward, fifteen-year-old Ossian Bell lives beside an orchard of glass trees. Each tree bears translucent fruit that, when broken, releases a memory—sometimes wondrous, sometimes terrifying, and not always Ossian’s own.
As the orchard begins to rot and the fruit darkens, memories start bleeding into waking life. Ossian sees impossible things: strangers who know his name, reflections that move without him, and a prophecy of his own death hidden in the shimmer of a cracked fruit.
The villagers whisper of the Mirror Sleeper—an entity that may not be asleep, and may not be separate from Ossian at all.
A story about memory, recursion, and the version of you that might have been, The Mirror Orchard is a haunting fable of identity unraveling at the edge of reality.
