Odds recorder spreadsheet

This Excel spreadsheet / workbook can be used for recording market prices and data from the Betfair exchange.

Requirements:



1) You must already have an account with Betfair (see Betfair.com)

2) You must already be a user of Advanced Cymatic Trader Software (requires a separate subscription from cymatic.co.uk). The Cymatic software connects you to Betfair and sends market data to the spreadsheet.

3) Microsoft Excel 2007 or later installed on your PC (not online versions). It is likely to also work on Excel 2003 but it hasn't been tested heavily with that version.

What the spreadsheet does:

The Excel spreadsheet is simply connected with your existing Cymatic software (clicking a button from within Cymatic) and it then logs the Betfair data upon each new refresh from Betfair, storing the data in the Recorder worksheet. 

It is currently arranged to log just the first 6 selections in the market, but you can add more if you wish, by repeating the formulae in more columns over to the right (if you are familiar with Excel). The VBA code will automatically detect the new columns.

Note that the logging pauses when the market is suspended or closed, because there is no point logging a suspended market because prices don't change unless it is active.

There is a check box option to choose if you want the old data from the previous market to be cleared when a new market is selected.

The market name and selection names are recorded in the logging rows, so that you can distinguish them if you log several consecutive markets without clearing the data.

Simply click the check box to enable logging after you have connected to the workbook and logging will commence.

Fields logged are as follows:

Name of market

Timestamp of last refresh

Countdown until the start of the race/event

Market status (e.g. ACTIVE)

Selection name

Best available price to back

Best available price to lay

Amount of money available at best available price to back

Amount of money available at best available price to lay

Last traded price

Traded volume (amount matched on the selection)
