This book exists because watching highly educated professionals navigate the modern office is the most fascinating behavioral experiment on earth. We have constructed a world of incredible technological sophistication, yet we run it on a psychological foundation that is terrified of looking stupid in front of the tribe. The gullibility bug is not a lack of intelligence, it is a feature of our corporate firmware. We are wired to trust authority, avoid social friction, and nod thoughtfully at things we absolutely do not understand.

The reason I wrote this is not to cure the corporate world of its delusions. That is a losing battle. You cannot patch human nature. The goal is simply observation and recognition.
