Mr Platypus (Wind Quintet and Piano)
A composition for wind quintet and piano about the platypus. The platypus is an Australian semi-aquatic animal that spends its time in waterways and its burrow next to the water's edge. It is classified as a monotreme which means it has fur and lays eggs. When the British first took one home to England they thought they must have stuck together a couple of animals, because their look is so unique. A furry animal with a duck like bill, and beaver like tail; how strange! They are known to be a shy animal that can sometimes be spotted at sunset.
Instrumentation: Wind Quintet and Piano – Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, French Horn, Bassoon and Piano
