The Ten Virgins Made Simple

The Ten Virgins -- lamps trimmed and oil in the vessels: watching and ready for the Bridegroom's return (Matthew 25:1-13).

Jesus told a parable about ten virgins, five wise and five foolish, who waited for the bridegroom. When He came at midnight, only the ready ones went in with Him. The rest were shut out. The Ten Virgins Made Simple is a Bible-first walk through the whole parable, verse by verse. Ten chapters trace the lamps, the oil, the tarrying, the trimming, the midnight cry, the shut door, and the marriage feast -- closing with a clear call to watch, be ready, and be welcomed in.

Explicitly Trinitarian: the Father who sends and calls, Jesus Christ -- Son of God and Son of Man, Lord and Savior -- the Bridegroom who is coming again, and the Holy Spirit who alone fills the vessel, keeps the lamp burning, and makes a people ready. Every prayer is to the Father, through Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit. Freedom and readiness come by the Spirit's power, never by willpower alone.

Read one chapter a day. Trim your lamp. Fill your vessel. Be ready.
