Ilyushin IL-62M R2.1

This is the improved IL-62M who enters in service in 1974. Due to it singular design for a heavy jet, the IL-62 was a big challenge for the soviet engineers, who faced it with classic yet effective solutions. The similar resemblance with the British VC10 provokes some claiming about “industrial espionage” but these two beautiful birds have almost nothing in common about technical, aerodynamics, or purpose. With proper engine and avionics upgrades, the IL-62 would be a good option as a freighter due to its great capacity, low cost of maintenance and sturdy construction. This machine holds one of the best security records for a first generation jetliner; just check it out.

This model was designed taking special cares in the flight dynamics and the most important systems. As this kind of machine usually needs a crew of four/five, the systems have been simplified for better usage for one simmer. Still, this is a complex machine to operate; a good choice to prove your piloting skills at high altitudes and speeds using just classic instruments and an old-style autopilot. So its strongly recommended that you read the documentation provided for a better flight experience.

This is a virtual replica (software) of the actual aircraft, and only works over MS Flight Simulators platforms or subsequent developments. This is a standalone product, but can be used to update any of the previous versions, if applies. It is compatible with FS9, FSX and FSX:SE, and uses 330MB of extra space in the Hard Drive.
