The Students of Hallow
Long before the Incident, Hallow Academy stood as a private school shrouded in tradition and mystery. Students whispered that the academy was built upon the ruins of an older settlement, a town wiped out centuries ago during an unspeakable calamity. The staff dismissed it as rumors, but the walls always seemed to hum with secrets, and the shadows stretched just a little too long in the evening halls.
We were students there—ordinary, at least at first. Then came the Outbreak.
It began with a midnight experiment gone wrong: the school’s hidden laboratory deep beneath the library. Someone tampered with ancient artifacts the academy had been guarding—bones, spellbound relics, and a cursed mirror said to hold a fragment of the afterlife. The energies ripped through the campus, reshaping anyone caught in its wake.
That was the night we changed.
The Survivors
Roxie the Ghost Bunny (Artist):
She was known for painting strange, dreamlike worlds that felt more real than reality. During the Outbreak, she perished in the art room when the cursed mirror shattered. Her soul fused with the paper sketches she’d drawn, and when the dust settled, she returned—a spectral bunny girl, pale and glowing, able to slip between the physical and the ethereal. Now, she paints with ghostlight, creating doorways and illusions from her haunted brush.
Reina the Skeleton Pup (Track Athlete):
The oldest of the group, Reina was once a rising track star, sprinting her way toward championships with unmatched determination. When the outbreak struck during training, it stripped away her flesh but not her spirit. Her soul clung fiercely to her bones, and she rose again as the Skeleton Pup—fragile in form, yet unbreakable in will. Her hollow frame rattles with every step, but inside her ribcage burns a faint ember, the remnant of her humanity and her relentless drive. Even in death, her speed is unrivaled; she races through the haunted ruins of Hallow with uncanny agility, her skeletal strides leaving ghostly afterimages in her wake. Loyal and steadfast, Reina’s strange gift allows her to sense the echoes of life and death, guiding her friends through the darkness as surely as she once ran the track.
Their Bond
Bound by the tragedy of the Outbreak, the two became inseparable. No longer quite alive, not entirely dead, they are the “Forgotten Class” of Hallow. By day, they hide among the ruins of their once-proud academy; by night, they wander the campus and the surrounding town, seeking answers—who caused the outbreak, and why they alone survived in such cursed forms.
Some say Hallow itself keeps them tethered, that the academy needs guardians to hold back something darker that wants to return. Others whisper that the girls themselves are the key to awakening whatever slumbers beneath the ruins.
But one thing is certain: they are no longer students—they are legends in the making.
