What if a capybara could save a hummingbird almost no one knows about?

Chiwi Flores is a traveling capybara who explores the world with a backpack her grandmother wove and a notebook full of dreams. Her first stop: the sunny Azapa Valley, in northern Chile, where she meets Alay, the little Arica hummingbird —one of the most endangered hummingbirds on the planet— and his friends Vicky the vizcacha, Guna the guanaco and Fito the culpeo fox.

Together they discover that the valley's flowers are disappearing. With courage, teamwork and a lot of heart, these friends learn that caring for nature is the greatest adventure of all.

A story for children ages 3 to 8 that blends adventure, friendship and a real cause.

🌱 Our mission: every Chiwilandia story sets out to raise awareness of endangered species. The Arica hummingbird (Eulidia yarrellii) truly exists and is at risk of extinction. By reading this story with your family, you help more people get to know and protect it.

Illustrated with original art by Victoria Lainez Hernández — vibrant colors and adorable characters.

What you get: a full-color 19-page PDF, ready to read on phone, tablet, computer or print at home. Also available in Spanish and Portuguese.
