Here is another fast, fun sideways garter and lace shawl. The pretty lace pattern is worked along with the garter stitch body. Any amount of yarn may be used and one skein is always enough. Pick a pretty summer colour and work this one up in the garden with a cup of tea. Quick, before summer comes to an end!
Yarn: SweetGeorgia Yarns Tough Love Sock (80% superwash merino wool, 20% nylon; 425 yd [388 m]/4 oz [115 g]). 1 skein. Shown in Laurel and Oxblood.
Needles: US size 6 [4.0 mm] needles or size needed to obtain gauge.
Finished measurements: Approximately 16 inches (41 cm) wide at middle and 78 inches (198 cm) long, after blocking.
Skills required: Increasing, decreasing, knitting lace, blocking lace. Stitches used: k, p, sl kwise wyib, k2tog, kfb, SK2P, ssk, yo.
