Mash Up - SOLD
A4 Oil Pastel on Cartridge Paper - sealed with high gloss acrylic varnish - includes removeable plastic mount frame
This piece is a simple mash up of memories from various parties, gigs and events. Every so often I sit down and do a series of quick drawings that are based more around a feeling than a specific person, place or time, and this was one of them!
Interestingly I feel like the top character has appeared in a few the artworks that have emerged from these little sessions, but I've no idea who they are! Perhaps my inner self looking back at me? Terrifying if true! Look elsewhere ya creep!
Anyway - for this piece I was thinking about crowded bars, gigs and parties - jostling your way through the dancefloor to see the band, find your mates, or grab a drink from a makeshift bar. People dancing, talking, shouting, falling over eachother, moshing, sharing baggies or joints or cigs - the tension, the joy, the building energy that will lead us all through the night as we lose control!
The lights bouncing off of people's faces, our own warped perceptions, the gimpses of movement, the thousands of different angles and perspective our brains must mash together from all of the movement and we try to make sense of the night...
