Lucius is desperate to secure Raine's affections as other ancient vampires descend on Dark River to try and woo (or steal) the last succubus. Raine said no to more severed heads, but Hollywood movies had told him that women love puppies. As the idea forms, he has the perfect solution to many problems.

Yes, Raine would be his soon, and hopefully, he would be hers too. But first, he had to find the perfect shifter pup and he the perfect place to look.
