When the Empire of Man withdrew from the Spineward Sectors, they set the stage for new heroes to emerge--and nowhere did more heroes emerge than on the deck of the MSP Pride of Prometheus, commanded by Lieutenant Commander Tyrone 'Tim' Middleton.
When the Pride of Prometheus was sent out on what was supposed to be a routine patrol of the local Sector's border, no one expected its crew to uncover a conspiracy so vast that it might swallow the Spineward Sectors whole. An early run-in with Imperial-backed pirates kicks off a series of events which requires creative thinking by Captain Middleton, and every step his crew takes only seems to take them deeper into the shadows at the edge of known space.
Book One: No Middle Ground
No Middle Ground is Book One of Eight in the ongoing Middleton's Pride military space opera series, set in the 22-books-and-counting Spineward Sectors universe written by the Wachter brothers, Luke Sky and Caleb.
When the Empire abandoned the Spineward Sectors to their own devices, it was left to an underappreciated few like lifelong military man Tyrone 'Tim' Middleton and his crew of misfits aboard the aged Pride of Prometheus to keep their corner of the galaxy safe from forces which would tear it apart.
This action-packed, character-driven space opera series is full of ship battles, space marine slugfests, interstellar politics, and at twenty two total books already written in the universe--including eight in this particular sub-series--this team of author brothers is just getting started on this epic saga.
Book Two: Up The Middle
After returning from an unexpectedly lengthy tour in Sectors 23 & 24, Captain Middleton and his crew discovered just how much had happened in their absence. Admiral Montagne, having dealt with the greatest pirate threat known to the Spineward Sectors in recent history, was less than enthusiastic about the circumstances surrounding the Pride of Prometheus’ return to headquarters.
It will take creative thinking to restock the ship with crew, deal with the battle damage she previously suffered, and get the crew back into fighting shape. But creative thinking is something which Middleton and his crew have become exceedingly good at, and before long the aged cruiser finds her bow pointed at the far side of Sector 24.
With their backs to the wall, the Pride's crew discovers that the simplest course is often best...which is why Middleton and his people hit their enemies hard, fast, and straight up the middle.
Book Three: Against The Middle
After emerging victorious against the Rim Fleet detachment sent to destroy them, Captain Middleton and the Pride of Prometheus’ crew point the bow at the heart of the enemy stronghold with a unified purpose: to destroy these Imperial interlopers and erase their subversive plans to conquer the Spineward Sectors before the first of the Raubach Clan’s dominos can fall.
Their journey will take them beyond the Rim of the Spineward Sectors, and the first leg of that journey brings them face to face with evidence of a truth so profound it challenges Imperial propaganda at the most fundamental level. But this evidence also leads Captain Middleton to a path which just might grant the Pride and her crew a path to victory over their enemy — an enemy which outnumbers them fifty warships to one!
