Cut the Cord
The emergency preparedness presentation has lost power.
The plan is on the screen.
Cut the Cord? is a musical comedy from The Human Comedy Department, where a confident Director, an increasingly unimpressed Resident, and a practical Engineer discover how much of the future requires a working outlet.
The fridge sends messages. The doorbell makes films. The phone is dead. Fortunately, you can still visit the website.
“On what? The ham?”
As the presentation unravels, the jokes move from smart appliances and wireless electricity to the revolutionary possibility of holding something useful. There’s a lantern, a battery pack, a call to Dad—and a room full of people who could use a little less coordinating.
“Cut the speech and roll those sleeves,
save the dinner, share the light.”
For anyone who has ever been told to go online to report that they cannot get online.
The future is impressive.
Dinner would also be nice.
