The EARND Journey
The EARND Journey
Build any position in five stages.
A short companion to The Reformer Handbook for reformer instructors. You can read it in ten minutes and teach from it tomorrow. Each position is built in five stages, and every client travels as far as they've earned. Everyone finishes together, so a single plan works for a mixed-level room.
The five stages
- Set. Build the position and find the breath.
- Link. Run the base movement.
- Stack. Add one or two movements to it.
- Load. Make it harder without changing position.
- Earn. The finish. Everyone holds at the stage they reached.
Each stage has its own page covering what to do, what to look for, and when to move on.
Inside
- Journeys in practice. Five worked examples: shoulder bridge, diagonal lunge, arm sweeps, side lunge and external shoulder rotation. Each one shows every stage, a gentler way, a harder way, and a cue to say out loud to the room.
- One journey, different stages. How to keep the clients behind, with you and ahead all working without making them match.
- Go or stay. A quick read of the room before every stage.
- Five signposts. The EARND principles in one line each.
The workbook (photocopy freely): a plan-your-journey sheet, a class log and a to-do page.
