This striking design combines the humble half square triangle with big blocks to make this stunning block which resembles faceted flowers.  Hence the name Gemstone Blooms. 

The pattern includes instructions for a quilt and cushion.  The quilt is a large size, approximately 70 x 90 inches and is made up of eight blocks constructed on point.  Quick construction methods are used to save time.  The cushion finishes up at 24 inches square.
