How the hell could they tell her No?

Renee Le Noireau is out in the cold again, and she is not pleased.

For the second time, the British-trained solicitor has been denied an inheritance.

Her stuck-up, younger-by-two-minutes, twin brother, Rhys, has swept the pot, leaving her in a lonely-in-London predicament.

Until she gets the letter that puts her on a collision course with destiny.

Army Major, Louis Bouisguard, has spent a large part of his life listening to his parents argue about their relationship with Astral and Orleans Le Noireau. The last thing he expected as Military attaché at the High Commission in London, was an encounter of his own with a Le Noireau.

He is sick of hearing the name.

When Renee Le Noireau forces her way into his office, hands akimbo, demanding a reason for being denied access to a family graveyard, he quickly falls back on the memories of his parents.

“The Le Noireaus own land in Scotland Bay. Tetron is not part of your estate, Mam.”

“Is that right, Major?” a pair of fiery golden eyes, staring daggers at him.

“It is Mam. If you have a document giving you right of access, I will be happy to recommend you get permission to visit the graveyard in Tetron.”

She stared at him for a long minute and pursed her lips.

In his mind’s eye, he saw the Remous, churning one way, rippling the other.

Anger and pleasure combined, spinning everything within the space.

And then just like the Remous, without another word, she turned on her heels and stormed out of his office, slamming the door behind her.

Louis exhaled.

“Something tells me,” he whispered to himself, “I’m going to see a lot more of that woman.”
