A bottom up shawlette worked up in a lovely hand-dyed sock weight yarn. The edging of this shawlette is worked up along the sides as you knit. There is short-row shaping to help it sit on your shoulders and a picot bind-off for a fancy edging. The short-row shaping instructions are written only.
This pattern is not exactly the same on both sides, but it is lovely enough on both sides to be reversible – I prefer the “wrong-side” of this shawlette myself. The center patterning is simple enough to show off variegated yarns to their full advantage as you can clearly see.

YARN: Knit Witch Celestial (100% Merino; 400 yds [366 m] / 3.5 oz [100g]): Venus - 1 skein
GAUGE: 16 sts & 26 rows to 4 inches in blocked center pattern stitch
NEEDLES: US #7 [4.5 mm] needles; adjust needle size to achieve gauge
SIZE: 60” [152.5 cm] wide and 22” [56 cm] deep
