HOW TO USE IT
Introduce the lesson with the example artwork and guide students through the directed drawing steps. Students sketch the chick with simple shapes, add decorative Easter eggs, patterns and background details, and outline their drawing with marker. They add wax color with crayons or oil pastels, then paint watercolor across the background and eggs. The wax repels the paint, so the linework and colors stay bold while the washes create a bright spring background.
Materials: pencil and eraser, black marker or fine liner, crayons or oil pastels, watercolor paint or diluted tempera paint, paint brushes and water, and thicker drawing paper or cardstock.
