Psychological Safety Team Toolkit
PSYCHOLOGICAL SAFETY TEAM TOOLKIT
Build a team where people can speak, learn and act before problems grow.
Psychological safety is not created by posters, slogans or telling people that the door is always open. It is built through everyday responses—particularly when someone raises a concern, admits a mistake, questions a decision or says they are reaching capacity.
The Psychological Safety Team Toolkit is a practical, interactive resource for leaders, supervisors, peer supporters, facilitators and teams working in high-pressure environments.
Created by Anthony Pymm from 27 years of frontline service, leadership, training and lived experience of PTSD recovery, this toolkit turns psychological safety from an abstract workplace concept into clear behaviours, conversations and actions.

BUILT FOR REAL WORKPLACES
This is not a dense policy document or a generic HR workbook.
Each tool is designed to support practical conversations about:
• Speaking up without humiliation or retaliation
• Raising workload, fatigue and safety concerns early
• Responding fairly to mistakes
• Maintaining accountability without automatic blame
• Handling disagreement respectfully
• Repairing trust after conflict
• Supporting people after high-impact work
• Turning feedback into visible follow-through
The toolkit can be used during leadership development, team meetings, facilitated workshops, supervision conversations, culture reviews and psychological-safety planning.
WHEN SOMEONE SPEAKS UP
One of the most important pages provides a straightforward five-step response:
PAUSE. THANK. CLARIFY. EXPLAIN. FOLLOW THROUGH.
Because people do not only listen to what leaders say about psychological safety. They watch what happens to the first person who speaks honestly.
INTERACTIVE DIGITAL FORMAT
The toolkit is designed for use on a phone, tablet or computer.
Users can type directly into the writing areas and tap the checkboxes to record assessments, discussion points and agreed actions. For the best experience, download the PDF and open it in Adobe Acrobat Reader or another form-compatible PDF reader.
The toolkit can also be printed for workshops and facilitated team discussions.
CREATED FROM LIVED EXPERIENCE
Anthony Pymm brings 27 years of frontline service, leadership and training together with his lived experience of PTSD recovery.
He has seen how quickly trust can disappear when people feel dismissed, isolated, judged or punished for speaking honestly. He has also seen what changes when leaders listen, remain curious, communicate clearly and follow through.
Real Talk. Real Healing.
