TIPS FOR PAINTING THEM

Soft fluffy bodies (bumblebees, moths) reward a dry-brush layer on top of the base wash to suggest fuzz. Iridescent wings (peacock butterfly, dragonfly) work with a blue-purple glaze laid over a yellow underwash — don't try to mix the iridescence flat. Perfect for watercolour, but they work beautifully as colouring pages too if that's your thing.
