I am reminded that often God will wound a man, He intends to use (i.e. Abraham, Moses) but in those wounds He has prepared that man to accomplish things for His kingdom.
I have been privileged to get to know Jacob Dell, but this book has given me a greater appreciation for the path the Lord led him to reach his current ministry.
I commend this book to you as a means of encouragement as well as a challenge to see how the Lord still calls His people to faithfully proclaim the good news of Christ, to witness to the world into which He has sent them, and to call the church back to faithful obedience to Scripture.
No matter what the odds, no matter where the path leads, our God calls men and women to faithful obedience to the Lord who gave His life to redeem theirs.

Truly, Mr. Dell has a deep understanding of what he speaks. A personal story of what happened that might help those of us who lived through the mainline church upheaval, and are still bewildered by it.

Jake's account of his journey through the Straits of Organized Religion is both entertaining and deeply perceptive, offering a rare look at the machinery that generates mainline clergy. This one is definitely a page-turner.
