The story of the Battistone surname: the saint of baptism and the “big Battista”, the other reading of the name, a more familiar one, the stone villages of Abruzzo where the name first appears in the records, two young Battistones and the Great War, and where most Battistones really live today. At the end, a family tree to fill in and a surname scroll to print.
