Chevronnie Socks
This sock was inspired by garland strands at Christmas time, but it isn’t just a seasonal pattern, it looks good in whatever colors you choose. You can knit it in one solid color, or a solid color for the body of the sock and a CC for the cuffs and toes. The chevron texture is both charted and written and you can find it at the end of both the top-down and toe-up versions.
My original sock was knit with a 10 pack of 10g minis, wanting to control where the chevrons landed, I knit it toe-up with a shadow wrap heel. Knowing that not everyone knits socks toe-up, I added instructions for top-down as well. I included instructions for a traditional heel flap and gusset for the top-down version for those who prefer the fit over a short-row heel. You can also use the instructions for the shadow wrap heel when knitting top down, it is up to you how you prefer to knit your socks.
This sock is worked using magic loop; needle 1 will be the front of foot/instep/leg, and needle 2 will be the back of foot/leg and heel. Sized from child to large adult these are perfect socks for the whole family.
