Kelly hopes that joining her sis on a nature trial crutch will take her mind off her term cast and exposed toes. However, it’s clear that this hike is a struggle for her on her crutches. Aside from having to be careful of dirt and bugs invading her cast Kelly tries crutching with her casted leg propped up both behind and in front of her, but it's still a challenge even with frequent stops to rest her bare toes on her one good shoe. Things take a difficult turn when they crutch all the way to the end of a wooden boardwalk part of the trail in a reedy swamp and find that the exit has been closed and Kelly has to crutch all the way back from where she came from.
