A lightweight lace cardigan, designed for using a special yarn that you have been saving for that perfect project. Worked from the top down with improved raglan shaping, the back and sleeves incorporate an all over trellis lace pattern. The seed stitch edging is worked as you go. The pattern includes ways to adapt the pattern for your perfect cardigan, including sleeve and body lengths and fit adjustments.

Needles: 4.0 mm / US size 6 needles, 32” minimum circular suggested.
4.0 mm / US size 6 needles, long circular or double pointed needles for working sleeves.

Yarn:
Cropped cardigan: 100 (100, 100, 100, 100) (100, 100, 150, 150) (150, 200, 200, 200) (250, 250, 250, 300, 300) g sock / 4 ply / fingering weight yarn, 420 m per 100 g.
Shown in Lammermuir Wool, Hillfoots Blend 4 ply; 100% wool; 370 m per 100 g; in “Emsket”.

Full cardigan:
200 (200, 200, 200, 250) (250, 250, 325, 325) (325, 400, 400, 400) (475, 475, 475, 550, 550) g sock / 4 ply / fingering weight yarn, 420 m per 100 g. Notions: Tapestry needle, 16 stitch markers (10 is one colour/style and 6 in a different colour/style is recommended), stitch holders or waste yarn, crochet hook and waste yarn for provisional cast on (or use your preferred method), ½” buttons- cropped cardigan 4 (4, 4, 4, 4) (5, 5, 5, 5) (5, 7, 7, 8) (8, 9, 9, 9, 9); full cardigan- 8 (8, 8, 8, 8) (9, 9, 9, 9) (9, 11, 11, 12) (12, 13, 13, 13, 13) NOTE- row gauge will affect number of buttons needed, buying them after the cardigan is knitted is recommended, or pick up a few spares just in case.

Skills: Provisional cast on, working flat, knit, purl, picking up stitches, increases, lace knitting, decreases, working in the round, weaving in ends, blocking.

Gauge: 22 stitches and 28 rows over 4” in stocking stitch after light blocking.

Sizing: The cardigan is sized from 26” to 60” upper bust. Please choose the size to make based on your upper bust measurement (measure around your body above your bust, where the underarm divide will sit) plus your choice of ease. Stitches are added with vertical bust darts which can be adapted to suit your own measurements.

There are three download options- All sizes, 26”-44” and 46”-60”. Choosing the size you intend to make gives you the option of printing a shorter document and helps to avoid confusion where instructions differ for the sizes.
