Mitered Square Basics

On Sale
Added to cart
This is a basic pattern/recipe for a mitered square blanket. It teaches you the basics of how to construct a mitered square, and then how to build from that adding additional squares as you go - with no seaming required.

The actual steps are also written out on my linked blog, but if you would like all the steps neatly written out in an easy-to-print format along with tips and tricks for success the PDF is available here for a small charge.

Please note that these types of blanket are generally knit with 4ply/sock weight yarn and needles between 3-3.5mm. But they can also be adapted to use heavier yarns with larger needles. For this reason no yarn or gauge is specified.

This pattern is available as a free tutorial on my blog - but it is also available to purchase for a nominal fee if you wish to have a condensed version to hand.

This pattern has been updated (May 2022) to include further details of the large version of my mitered square blanket using sock weight yarn held double.

4ply try 3.25mm needle
DK try 3-5 or 4mm needle
Worsted try 4.5mm needle
Aran try 5mm needle
You will get a PDF (6MB) file
